History
Saura art is an ancient ritual art practiced by the Saura tribals. Its exact origin is not known, however, it is known that the Sauras are one of the oldest among the listed scheduled tribes of India. Saura paintings are based on religious and ceremonial themes.
Skills
The artist needs a good sense of balance and good control over line drawing especially in making the freehand circular formations as seen in this painting. The arch of the circular formations has been done perfectly symmetrically.
Aesthetics
The striking thing about this painting is how the artist has linked the figures through concentric and semi-circular formation giving this painting a sense of movement and continuity.
