We at Rare Indian Art believe that each individual is unique and values art differently. This has given rise to our unique system of rating the art. Since we you may wish to buy a piece on the basis of its different facets, we rate all our art in four primary ways. The first two are - the aesthetics (and visual appeal) of an artifact and the skills/talents required to create it. The next two ways of rating are - its history (origin and rarity) and the intrinsic value of the material used to make it (durability, metal value etc).

We hope that these ratings allow you to find something which provides the best solution to your special art requirement. On our part, we hope to be able to understand your preferences better through this system - especially by the feedback that you provide. Our long term goal is to understand your need better and use it as a means to further the cause of indigenous art.

Rare Indian Art has been born out of our passion and commitment to take indigenous art forms of India to the widest possible audience. We have chosen the online medium because it best helps to reduce the distance between the art lovers and the art.

All of our artifacts are procured directly from the artisans and craftsmen. This allows us to assure you of the authenticity and quality of the items. In fact, the process of traversing the length and breadth of India, exploring and understanding its myriad arts, has been an extremely fulfilling experience for us at Rare Indian Art.
